Sentinel incident ops console: frequency chart, active incidents, on-call stats

Starting prices · CAD

What it costs
to start.

Every ZyroByte service, with a starting amount in Canadian dollars. These are lead-in prices for a scoped production slice — not a rate card, and not the quote. The written proposal is the contract.

Our work ships under strict NDAs. We show what we know, not who we built it for.

The catalog

All services, starting amounts

Pick a service to read how we work, or start it and we will pre-fill the project form. Combining several into one product is quoted as one engagement.

Products

From first version to full scale

A production-grade first ship, a complete platform, or the engineering that keeps it standing under load.

Relay v0.1 production status board with incidents and deploys

MVP Development

A deliberately small product built to production standards — real auth, real data, real deploys. Not a throwaway prototype.

from $5,000 CAD

Software

Apps, APIs, stores, and consoles

The surfaces people actually use — web, mobile, desktop, commerce, and the backends that hold them up.

Working table mid-session: laptop, marked-up papers, coffee, notebook

Consultation

A working session with engineers and a written architecture outline. Scope, stack, risks, and a plan you can hold us to.

from $2,500 CAD

Realtime & AI

Systems that move, and systems that work

Game servers, WebRTC, AI tracking, 4G radios and a command floor, end-to-end encryption — and Mission Control for the work your team already does.

Studio

Games, sprites, worlds, cinematics

Playable software and the art that goes in it — 2D, 3D, and both under one roof. Packed for Unity, Godot, Unreal, and the browser.

Hardware

Boards, firmware, and robots

Schematic to bring-up on the bench. Perception, planning, and control in simulation first.

Carbon-fiber humanoid robot in profile

Robotics & Autonomy

Perception, planning, and control — ROS 2, sensor fusion, simulation-first, teleoperation and fleet interfaces.

from $18,000 CAD

Research

Numbers that have to be right

Instrument-adjacent pipelines, scientific visualization, physics models, and ground-segment-style dashboards.

How we engage

Four ways to work with us

The starting price is the floor. The proposal recommends a model — and explains why.

Fixed-Scope Delivery

A defined specification delivered against milestones with explicit acceptance criteria. You know what you are getting before work begins.

Fits: MVPs, bounded builds, and work where the requirements are already clear.

Dedicated Team

Embedded engineers on retained capacity, working inside your roadmap and rituals. Context stays with the product between releases.

Fits: Full-product build-outs and long-running platforms that need sustained ownership.

R&D Partnership

Exploratory work structured around staged checkpoints. Each stage produces a prototype, a benchmark, or a validated architecture — then a decision.

Fits: Hardware-adjacent work, simulation, and novel domains where the answer is not known up front.

Nonprofit Program

A structured, reduced-cost program for registered nonprofits, charities, and community organizations. Same engineering standard; different commercial structure.

Fits: Registered nonprofits and community organizations.

How scoping works

The process is designed to produce a proposal you can hold us to — not a handshake and a hope.

01

Pick a service

Choose the work from the catalog. Rough is fine — a package pre-fills the project form so we start on the right floor.

02

Technical discovery

A working session with engineers, not a sales call. We map constraints, risks, and what done looks like.

03

Written proposal

Scope, starting amount versus quoted amount, engagement model, and an architecture outline — in writing.

04

Kickoff

Agreement signed, repository created, first milestone underway. The proposal becomes the plan of record.

FAQ

Before you send the form

They are starting prices in CAD for a scoped production slice of that service — the smallest serious engagement we will take on. A WhatsApp-class messenger, a full Mission Control, or a complete product is quoted as one engagement, not a stack of line items. The written proposal is the number that matters.

So you can tell whether we are in the same conversation. A sprite kit and a 10-layer HDI board are not the same problem. Starting amounts let you filter. They are not a rate card, and they are not a promise that every project of that type costs that amount.

Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes (including HST in Ontario) are added on invoices. We invoice in CAD unless the proposal says otherwise.

After the discovery call we prepare a written proposal with an architecture outline. Turnaround depends on the problem, but well-defined work typically follows shortly after discovery. We would rather send an accurate proposal than a fast guess.

Yes. A game with original art, an MVP with a realtime layer, a board with firmware and a fleet dashboard — those ship as one proposal when they are one product. Pick the services that apply; we will scope them together.

No. AI tracking is cameras and sensors: people, plates, watchlist, vitals and fall. Security communications is 4G PTT, the command floor, and personnel GPS. End-to-end encryption is the path the radio rides when the server must not listen. Many programs buy two or three. They are priced as separate starting amounts on this page and quoted as one engagement when they are one floor.

Yes. Many engagements begin as fixed-scope deliveries and transition to a dedicated team once the platform is live. Switching is a structured conversation, not a renegotiation from scratch — the working relationship and codebase carry over.

You do. Code, designs, documentation, and infrastructure configuration produced under an engagement belong to the client on completion of the agreed terms. We build on that principle by default.

Yes. We operate NDA-by-default. Our work ships under strict NDAs, and we never publish client names, case studies, or project details. Discretion is part of the engagement, not an add-on.

Yes. We run a structured nonprofit program with reduced-cost engagements for registered nonprofits, charities, and community organizations. The engineering standard is the same; the commercial structure is adjusted.

Describe the problem. We will come back with a scoped, written proposal that states what we would build, how, and for how much — against the starting amount on this page.
